Why all keys lost is different
With a working key available, a new key can usually be added alongside it. When there is no key at all, the van's immobiliser has nothing to copy from, so the new key has to be produced and introduced to the system from scratch.
This is often more involved than making a spare, and the approach depends heavily on the make, model, year and security system. On some vans it can be done at the roadside; on others it may not be possible on site.
First steps if your van keys are lost
- Check with colleagues, the last job site and anywhere you stopped — keys are often handed in
- If you suspect theft, report it to the police and consider securing the van
- Note the registration, make, model and year
- Find your V5C, lease or finance paperwork, or authority from your employer
Information we need
Because there is no key to inspect, accurate details matter even more:
- Van registration number
- Make, model and year (e.g. Ford Transit Custom, 2019)
- Whether you have a working key, a damaged key or no key at all
- Where the van is parked in or around Eastleigh
- Proof of ownership or authority to use the vehicle (V5C, finance or lease paperwork, or a company letter)
How we attend
We attend the van where it is parked, where the vehicle and job are suitable for mobile work. We confirm this before arranging a visit. After checking ownership, we assess the vehicle and explain what can be done. Price and the time involved vary with the vehicle and key system, and we will be clear with you if a job needs a different approach.
Van makes covered

Lost Van Keys / All Keys Lost: common questions
Can you help if I have lost every key?
Often, yes, for many of the van models we advertise — but it depends on the exact vehicle and key system. Send the registration, model and year so we can check before we attend.
Do I need to prove the van is mine?
Yes. We ask for proof of ownership or authority to use the van before making a key, which protects you and other van owners.
