Types of key damage we see
- Blade snapped off in the ignition, door or rear lock
- Flip key hinge broken so the blade will not stay out
- Case split, with the chip or circuit board falling out
- Blade worn so it only turns at a certain angle
- Water damage to the remote electronics
What can usually be done
Depending on the damage, the van and the key system, options may include extracting a broken blade, transferring parts into a new case, cutting a new blade, or supplying and programming a replacement key.
If the key no longer works at all and there is no other key, the job may be treated more like an all-keys-lost situation.
Please keep the broken pieces
Even a snapped blade or a cracked fob can help identify the right key and, on some vehicles, simplify the work. Please do not throw them away.

Broken or Damaged Van Keys: common questions
My key snapped in the lock — should I try to remove it?
Avoid forcing it, which can push the blade deeper or damage the lock. Leave it and get in touch.
Can you just replace the case?
Sometimes, if the electronics and blade are fine. We will tell you if a case swap is suitable for your key.
